Dear Friends of the ACVA- The Ability Center of Virginia is committed to keeping you informed about our response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The health and well-being of our staff, participants, volunteers, and supporters is our primary concern. The ACVA is following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state and county authorities.
We hope to see you on June 15th when we kick off our Camp Ability season. In the meantime, we will be going virtual. Ability Days will meet via ZOOM twice weekly. Please contact us for more details or to become involved. We unfortunately were forced to postpone the 24th Annual Ability Gala which was scheduled for Saturday, March 14th. We look forward to celebrating the work done every daY, by so many and to raising funds to ensure we can provide life changing services for those in our community with different ABILITIES. Please stay tuned for announcements regarding a new Gala date.
Staff: Dedicated to the ACVA and You! Our team remains committed to serving those in our community with different ABILITIES. Staff will be working remotely as we continue moving forward with plans for our Gala, Camp Ability and the fall session of Ability Days. We are all dedicated to you and the ACVA and look forward to returning to a healthy and viable workplace on June 10th.
How You Can Help: Support the Ability Center of Virginia We know how extraordinarily difficult this time is for everyone, but any support you can provide to the Ability Center of Virginia is greatly appreciated, http://www.abilitycenterva.org/donate.html. The loss of the remaining weeks of the spring Ability Days programing, combined with our inability to host the Gala, and Ability Run has resulted in a severe financial loss to the ACVA.
Stay Safe and Healthy We hope that everyone in our community remains safe and healthy as we work together to get through this public health crisis. Please stay in touch with the Ability Center of Virginia by visiting our website and social media for the latest updates on how we are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can also reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions, or have information you wish to share.
We have taken this opportunity to ensure that when the time is right our participants, team, and families have a safe environment to return to. The ACVA and all program vehicles have been deep cleaned and disinfected.
