Putting our Abilities to Work

ArtWorks Program

ArtWorks provides the space for a dynamic group of adults of all abilities to create and take pride in their own original artwork. Staff and volunteers work with participants to teach and assist in adapting techniques for them to produce many treasured creations. ArtWorks artists create mixed media masterpieces, including hand-stamped greeting cards for all occasions, bookmarks, gift tags, and shadowboxes. The ArtWorks program instills participants with a sense of pride, accomplishment, and independence, while simultaneously giving them an outlet for self-expression. Our custom cards are currently available for purchase at the ACVA office and the following Virginia Beach locations: Sugar Plum Bakery, Lewis Accounting & Tax Service, Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum, Prosperity Kitchen and Bakery, Salty Dog Grooming, and Cycle Bar (Red Mill).
