ArtWorks Program
The ArtWorks Program is a dynamic group of adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities creating original artwork. Staff and skilled volunteers work with participants to teach and assist in adapting techniques to create.

In addition to creating Paintings on Canvas, participants construct mixed media pieces—including hand-stamped Greeting Cards, Gift Tags and much more! Thanks to an inkind gift, we have more than 3,000 stamps to create unique card designs for any occasion.
The ArtWorks program provides participants with a great sense of pride, independence and acceptance in our community, while simultaneously giving them an outlet for self-expression.
These custom cards are available for purchase throughout the year at the ACVA office The Royal Chocolate in Virginia Beach , Sugar Plum Bakery, The Beach Nut, the Virginia Aquarium , Colonial Shooting Academy and at Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital.
