ArtWorks Program

“Creativity takes courage” –Henri Matisse ACVA has some of the most courageous and creative artists you’ll ever meet! ArtWorks provides the space for a dynamic group of adults of all abilities to create and take pride in their own original artwork. Staff and volunteers work with participants to teach and assist in adapting techniques for them to produce many treasured creations. ArtWorks artists create paintings on canvas, holiday-themed pieces, mixed media masterpieces including hand-stamped greeting cards for all occasions, gift tags, and much more! The ArtWorks program instills participants with a sense of pride, accomplishment, and independence, while simultaneously giving them an outlet for self-expression. ArtWorks custom cards are currently available for purchase at the ACVA office and the following Virginia Beach locations: The Royal Chocolate, Sugar Plum Bakery, Lewis Accounting & Tax Service, and Pawsnickety Pets.
