Since 1984, our volunteers have been contributing valuable time and expertise to many area within our agency. Ability Center of Virginia is one of 60 United Way of South Hampton Roads community partners. We provide progressive and innovative programs and services to more than 520 families in our community and throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. We are known and well respected in the disability community for our personal concern for each consumer and their family and our philosophy is to provide programs and services which serve the entire family. Our reputation is enhanced by the quality of our volunteers.
The Board of Directors is composed entirely of volunteers some of whom our consumers, family members as well as professional and citizens in the community who have an interest in our programs and services and the children and adults we serve.
